HOT STRIP requires the tank to be heated to 60-85 c and some require agitation, often a longer process than cold strip the benefit of using products such as Alcohol Benzyl is that once the coating is removed, the process stops. This leaves the substrate free of the paint film or coating but leaving the substrate intact eliminating the possibility of substrate attack. This process is therefore of particular benefit when processing high value items.

A filteration process may be required with some products not with standing a filter press.

However unlike Methylene Chloride there is little environmental risk associated with Alcohol Benzyl and effluent control is not problematic.
